Easy Healthy Drink Recipes You Can Make at Home

Are you looking for healthier, more natural drink options?

1. Unsweetened Coconut Water

Let’s be honest as we launch into this natural eating adventure. When we contemplate what it means to eat and drink healthier, our minds assume we’re dooming ourselves to a life of no flavor.

This misconception isn’t the case. Yes, we should drink more water, but it doesn’t have to be bland. Instead, reach for unsweetened coconut water. It has tons of flavor without the added sugar. You can make it yourself too.

2. Sparkling Water

Sometimes when reaching for water, we like to have some added fizz to it. Fizz makes the water taste a little different and become slightly less bland.

If you enjoy sparkling water, consider purchasing a Soda Stream. A Soda-Stream is an at-home carbonation system which allows you to have sparkling water anytime you wish without becoming an added item to your grocery list.

3. Homemade Veggie Juice

If you haven’t realized yet, the best way to give yourself healthier drink options is to cut out the unnecessary sugar. One way of doing this is to juice your vegetables.

It’s also an easier way of making sure you get all the servings of vegetables you should have in a day. If you enjoy V8 juice, you’ll be happy to know you can make your own.

4. Kefir

People have mixed emotions when it comes to dairy. Some say it’s good for you and it helps. Others feel less inclined to see it as a healthy option.

I’m not going to debate this, but I will say, if you wish to include dairy in your diet don’t forget about kefir. It’s a fermented beverage made from milk which is also full of great bacteria which supports a healthy gut.

5. Iced Tea

I’m a southern girl, and thankfully tea is still considered a good beverage for you. If not, I may have to throw caution to the wind because sweet tea is a beverage I love.

You can drink any natural tea of your choosing. Green tea is one of my favourite options, and you can also use natural sugars to sweeten your tea if (like me) you can’t imagine life without sweet tea.

6. Hot Tea

Hot tea is another favourite beverage of many. If you prefer a good cup of tea to unwind after a particularly strenuous day, you’ll be glad to know it’s a great natural drink choice.

Again, you can use any variety of tea you like. Remember to choose natural sweetening options, lemon, or basic dairy choices for flavor.

7. Hot Coffee

I’m a big coffee drinker. I start my day with approximately two cups and end it with one. I love the flavor and the added energy boost it gives me.

If you love coffee too, you’ll be happy to know it’s a wonderful natural drink choice. You can add natural sweeteners, milk, or make a delicious bulletproof coffee which has many health benefits for you.

8. Iced Coffee

Chances are if you enjoy a cup of hot coffee, you’ll enjoy a cup of iced coffee too. I like to make iced coffee when I have leftover morning coffee.

Making your own creation is easy. I place the coffee in a blender with ice cubes. You can add natural sweeteners for added flavor. The result is a frothy, ice cold healthy drinks which taste delicious and gives you an energy boost.

9. Homemade Fruit Juice

As much as you can blend your homegrown veggies to make vegetable juice, you can do the same to your homegrown (or purchased) fruit.

When making fruit juice, be sure to omit the sugar. If you can’t get away from the sugar for an enjoyable taste, try to add natural sweeteners instead of refined white sugar.

For some inspiration, try our apple juice, cranberry juice or grape juice recipes.

10. Fruity Ice Cubes

Fruity ice cubes is a fun idea for naturally wetting your palate. The next time you want to reach for a piece of hard candy to moisten your throat, make some fruity ice cubes instead.

Crush any fruit choices you desire, place them in an ice cube tray, and pop one into your mouth when you must wet your whistle.

11. Infused H2O

Infused water may sound boring, but I assure you, it’s anything but. You can mix and match any variety of flavors you’d enjoy.

Infuse those natural flavors into your water, and you have a delicious yet ever-changing healthy drink option you’ll reach for again and again.

12. Almond Milk

If you’re someone who has a dairy allergy or are on the fence about consuming dairy, you’ll be happy to know there are milk options for you.

When looking for naturally healthy drinks while still getting your calcium, turn to almond milk. You can make it yourself too.

13. Goat’s Milk

I’m a big fan of goat’s milk. It’s nutritious and a great way to incorporate dairy into your diet from your homestead even if you don’t have much land.

Don’t let goat’s milk fool you. Because it’s less common in most homes, doesn’t mean it’s less useful. You can make a variety of products from their milk outside of drinking it.

14. Cow’s Milk

If you prefer traditional cow’s milk, you’ll be happy to know it’s a healthy drink too. It’s becoming harder to find fresh cow’s milk for sale because of regulation.

But if you have the land, you could pasture a cow to enjoy fresh milk. A dairy animal would also give you an option for making butter and cheese too.

15. Smoothies

When I was a kid, smoothies meant a sugary drink with some fresh fruit thrown in the mix. Thanks to the internet, the healthy moms of the world are teaching us how to make healthy fruit smoothies.

Therefore, if you want to indulge in a fruity frozen beverage, go for it. Remember, it’s important to stick with whole food fruit options and try to omit the sugar all together. If you can’t, use natural sweeteners.

16. Coconut Milk

Healthy drinks aren’t only important for staying hydrated in a healthy way., but they also make it possible to indulge in recipes we’d usually miss out on when following a healthier or more natural diet.

One instance is ice cream. Thanks to coconut milk, you can make a healthy ice cream which is good for you but will silence those sweet tooth cravings.

17. Kombucha

Kombucha has become all the rage lately. It’s a delicious fermented tea healthy drink which has been around for many years.

But recently, we’ve all began caring about our gut health. Kombucha is filled with healthy bacteria which is good for our gut but is a delicious choice for natural hydration too.

18. Alcohol

Yes! You can indulge in alcohol even when you’re trying to follow a healthier or more natural diet. The trick is to omit the alcoholic beverages filled with refined sugars.

Try to stick with your basic beers, wines, and straight liquors. You can also try some lower-calorie or carb-friendly adult beverages too.

19. Plain Old Tap Water

When all else fails, don’t forget to go to your kitchen sink, turn it on, and enjoy a refreshing glass of regular tap water.

It may not be packed with tons of flavor, but it’s good for you. Water is also as natural as you can get and cheap too. Don’t discount the primary ingredient of life when searching for a healthy, natural beverage.

20. Lemonade

Your last healthy, natural drink option is lemonade. I know, you must be like, “ What?! This woman is crazy. Lemonade is packed with sugar!

It was at one point, but again, thanks to the internet people are sharing healthy and delicious recipes for natural lemonade using natural sugar options.

I hope this helps you continue on your path to better health by embracing the foods you can grow naturally in your backyard.

But also utilizing those same foods (and some of the animals you can raise) to hydrate yourself as naturally as possible too.

Good health takes work, but it’s worth it. Invest in yourself to be able to enjoy a long life filled with many adventures.
